Global Compassion Foundation (GCF) was founded in 2025 in Tuichawng Village, Lunglei District, Mizoram, by Mr. Sudip Chakma, a dedicated teacher and social worker who has spent decades serving marginalized communities. His lifelong mission has been to provide quality education, dignity, and opportunities to children who face hardship due to poverty, geographic isolation, and lack of resources.

Before founding GCF, Mr. Sudip dedicated more than 13 years to establishing Mahabodhi Residential School (MBRS), raising funds from local and international supporters, and personally overseeing the construction of classrooms, hostels, a dining hall, and a Buddhist temple. The journey was filled with immense challenges—poor internet connectivity, scarce resources, and the constant struggle to gain trust and support from donors. Every milestone at MBRS reflected his hard work, honesty, and unwavering dedication to education and ethical values.

However, despite these sacrifices, structural and governance issues beyond his control prevented him from fully realizing his vision. Recognizing the need for transparent, value-based, and sustainable leadership, Mr. Sudip made the difficult decision to step away from MBRS to protect the integrity of his mission and the welfare of the children.

From this experience, Global Compassion Foundation was born—an organization built on the principles of transparency, accountability, and compassion in action. GCF carries forward Mr. Sudip’s vision of inclusive, value-based education, safe hostel facilities, holistic development, and community empowerment. Every initiative—from building schools and hostels to providing healthcare and community support—is rooted in the belief that even a small act of compassion can transform a child’s future and uplift entire communities.

Today, GCF stands as a testament to resilience, ethical leadership, and the transformative power of education, working tirelessly to create opportunities where none existed before.
